 The Dravosburg Vol. Fire Co. #2 Website is dedicated to the Life Members of Our Respective Fire Dept., for their admiration, dedication, & respect of the Dravosburg Community. 

"What transpired in the past week with the closing of the Fire Company is a shock to the membership. The membership nor the board of directors ever voted to terminate operations of the fire company. This was done by a select few, whom have not been active in the company. Our company was crewing better then we had in years. Our firefighters were taking classes and attending drills. In April of 2002, we the firefighters were ask to put the company back into operation. Which we did with pride. We had to work on the equipment to bring it up to par. Our only goal was to provide quality fire service to the Borough of Dravosburg. We worked very hard to accomplice this goal. Many of the firefighters grew frustrated with the wall that we were up against. The problem was that "we the so called out of towner's" just wanted to see the company run by the rules set forth and have accountability for both actions and moneys of the company. Record keeping prior to the past few years was almost non-existent. The sad thing is, we had to read about the shutting down of our company in the newspaper. All that we ask was for the Fire Company to be ran according to the by-laws and to show the firefighters some respect. If the life members would have attended meetings and spent a little time with the firefighters, they would have understood what we were up against. Instead we were lied to, from people whom didn't have the common courtesy to tell us the truth. From April 2002 not one person making the decision to shut the company down attended the membershipship meeting, except the president. This is the same person whom shut down the company earlier in the year. For all the hard work that we put into the Fire Company, all we got in return was to be EMBARESSED from people who don't fight fires nor care about anything other then the club being open. This is very sad. We had 3 members when all of this happen attending Essentials of Firefighting classes. The Dravosburg V.F.D. No.1 had nothing at all to do with this. In fact we had a good working relationship D.F.V.C. No.1. From the time that we went back in to service, the members of the Dravosburg No.1 Fire Company treated us with the utmost respect. They have a great bunch there and we wish them all the best of luck. From the FIREFIGHTERS we enjoyed serving the residents of DRAVOSBURG. We met many very nice people while serving the borough and thank you for all of your support. THANK YOU THE FORMER FIREFIGHTERS AND LINE OFFICERS OF DRAVOSBURG VFC. No.2 PS: Thanks Jeff for all the screwing you have done to the Company & and mainly the Resdents of Dravosburg Pa!!! It is amazing that you are a used car salesman, do you screw your customers also??
